Jo Jo Gunne began as an outgrowth of the legendary 1960s outfit Spirit. Shortly after that band’s classic Twelve Dreams Of Dr Sardonicus album, group members Jay Ferguson and Mark Andes left to form Jo Jo Gunne with Mark's brother, Matt, on guitar and Curly Smith on percussion.
