Nestled on the scenic Castle Hill Point, the Castle Hill Lighthouse has been a guiding light for vessels since 1890. Its establishment was crucial for ships navigating the East Passage of Narragansett Bay.

Rose Island is about 18 acres in size and situated in the Narragansett Bay just south of the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge. It consists of a historic lighthouse, the Fort Hamilton Barracks, and a wildlife refuge.
