Jul 10, 2024 · Welcome to Detachment 004—the only Air Force ROTC program in Nevada! Our program teaches Flying Rebels the leadership skills required to go 004th and conquer as an officer in the United States Air Force or United States Space Force!

The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (Air Force ROTC) is an educational program designed to give men and women the opportunity to become Air Force and Space Force officers while completing their college degrees.

The Air Force ROTC program is dedicated to jumpstarting the career of Flying Rebels and building leaders that are different, daring, and diverse. Students are given access to extensive academic funding, specialized military training, leadership development, fitness maintenance, professional development, and team-driven experiences.

What is the difference between joining the Air Force or Space Force through ROTC and enlisting? By joining Air Force ROTC and successfully completing the program, you obtain an undergraduate degree and a commission in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force as an officer.

As a cadet in Air Force ROTC, you'll be working toward a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force. AFROTC focuses on teaching you the necessary leadership skills to become an Air Force or Space Force officer through a vigorous, multifaceted training program.

The UNLV @ Nellis Office, located in Room 314 of the Education Center in building 20, is part of the broader UNLV initiative to provide higher education courses and services to military personnel, veterans, and dependents in Southern Nevada. Application and university fees are waived for all active duty military members.
